General

  • Ancestry.com - a pretty good site with loads of info on family history, but most information that's available there for a fee can be found elsewhere for free.  It's advantage is that the information is all together under one roof.
  • Cyndi's List of Genealogy Sites on the Internet - the site with more links to other family history site than anywhere else.  Cyndi gets new links daily.  Definitely worth checking out - and frequently.  Can also sign up to receive daily link updates.
  • Cousin Connect - The place to post your genealogy queries.  Post a query or search queries based on location, surname, etc.
    • Fraudulent Lineages
